Privacy Policy
Escarpment Sound Solution is a DJ and event services business based in Welland, Ontario. This page explains what we collect through this website, why, who helps us handle it, how long we keep it, and how to reach us about it. Last updated: October 22, 2026.
What we collect
- Booking requests: your name, email, phone, street address, city, province and postal code, an organization if you give one, and your event details: the date and times, the venue, the kind of event, the guest count, the add-ons you pick and how you heard about us.
- Check your date: the date, the kind of event, your name, and an email or a phone number.
- Contact messages: your name, email, phone and your message.
- Job applications: your name, email, phone, city, the role, your experience and availability, any links you add, and your message.
- Song requests at an event: the song and artist, and a first name and a shout-out if you give them. We never ask for an email or a phone number there.
- To keep the forms safe: your device and browser type and your network (IP) address, to stop spam and abuse. On the song request page the phone keeps a random id, and we keep a scrambled copy of it and of your network address for one hour to limit repeat requests, then clear them.
Why we use it
To answer you, quote your event, send your e-contract and deposit link, plan the night with you, and keep the records a business must keep. We use a job application only to consider you for a role. We use a song request only to play it at the event.
We send offers and updates only if you tick the box on the booking form. You can stop them at any time: reply STOP to a text or use the unsubscribe link in an email. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
Who helps us
A few trusted companies handle information for us, only to provide their service: the company that builds and runs our website and booking tools; website hosting, security and our database (Cloudflare); email (Microsoft and Resend); deposit payments (Stripe, which receives your card details directly, so we never see them); and website statistics (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, described below). Some of them may store information outside Canada, where it is protected by their security but may be reachable by the laws of that country.
Cookies and website statistics
Google Analytics uses cookies to count visits and see which pages help people find us. Microsoft Clarity shows us, without your typing, how pages are used, so we can fix what is confusing; it starts only after you choose OK on the cookie notice. If you choose No thanks, neither one runs. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
The forms also use a security check from Cloudflare, and your browser remembers your cookie choice. Neither is used to track you.
How long we keep it
Booking and payment records: six years, as the Canada Revenue Agency requires. Everything else, including requests that do not become bookings, messages, job applications and song requests: up to two years, then we delete it. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time.
Your choices
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Email us and we will answer within 30 days. If you are not happy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Keeping it safe and changes
Your information travels encrypted, and only Escarpment Sound Solution and the companies named above can reach it. If this policy changes, we update it here and change the date at the top.
